 Scott Leppert
Director
Scott is currently residing in Glastonbury, Connecticut with his wife and two children. He is a high school special education teacher and instructor trainer for US Sailing. Scott is a graduate of St. Mary's College of Maryland where he was elected sailing team captain. After college, Scott coached college sailing at the University of Washington and Roger Williams University, among others. Additionally, Scott was the Sailing Director at Sachems Head Yacht Club in Connecticut and Head Sailing Instructor at the Seattle Yacht Club with over 400 students. Scott has sailed competitively in many classes including the Laser, Vanguard 15, Snipe, and Star, in which he competed in the Olympic Trials. He enjoys frostbiting Lasers on the Connecticut River, traveling to National Parks with his family, and photography. Coaching and teaching have always been his passion whether it is in the classroom or on the water. Scott is excited to return to Maryland and share his expertise and enthusiasm with the Tred Avon Yacht Club sailing program.

Erik Volk
Erik is from Clearwater, Florida. He grew up on the water but his love for sailing took off in High School when he was the Captain of the East Lake High School Sailing Team. He has experienced coaching a variety of ages and skill sets and is currently coaching a High School racing team and a Beginner to Intermediate Middle School program. Erik is a third-year student at the University of South Florida pursuing an Industrial Engineering degree. He sails for the USF Coed Team as both skipper and crew. He takes every opportunity to sail a variety of boats from Open Bic's to Melges 32's and is eager to try more. Erik is excited to work at TAYC and to experience the Chesapeake Bay sailing culture.

Madi Norris

Madi has been in the TAYC Junior Sail program since she was 8 years old. Every year she finds new reason to love the water, and she found out that she loves capsizing so much that she'd swim with Jellyfish. Madi attends Mercersburg Academy in Pennsylvania. She spends winters as a snowboard instructor at Whitetail Resort. She loves to play field hockey and lacrosse. When she is home from school, she lives in Oxford with her mom and dog, Misty. Madi cannot wait to coach at TAYC this summer!

Caroline Hugo

Caroline is from Annapolis, where she grew up sailing at AYC starting at the age of 5. As a Junior Sailor , the Oxford Regatta was always her favorite and she is very excited to have the opportunity to coach at TAYC this summer. She is currently a freshman at the College of Charleston in South Carolina as a double major in Psycology and Business. I have been coaching sailing for four years now and is ecstatic to have a great summer at TAYC. Aside from sailing, she also enjoys hiking and playing field hockey, lacrosse and basketball.
